Epidural Steroid Injections

Targeted anti-inflammatory spinal injections to relieve sciatica, herniated discs, and nerve root pressure.

Direct Anti-Inflammatory Relief for Nerve Compression

Epidural Steroid Injections (ESIs) are a standard interventional treatment used to manage radiating nerve pain in the back, neck, legs, and arms. When spinal nerves become pinched or irritated due to herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, or bone spurs, severe localized swelling and radiating symptoms (like sciatica) develop.

By delivering corticosteroids directly into the epidural space (the fluid-filled area surrounding the spinal cord and nerve roots), ESIs target the exact source of inflammation, offering powerful relief and facilitating active physical therapy.

Epidural Highlights

  • Relieves Radiating Sciatica Targets pain traveling down the leg or arm from the spine.
  • Pins the Pinched Nerve Steroids are placed precisely at the nerve irritation point.
  • Live X-Ray Guided Ensures high accuracy and safety during needle placement. Bo

How Epidural Injections are Performed

1. Live Fluoroscopic Mapping

The injection is performed under live fluoroscopy (X-ray imaging) to locate the exact vertebrae segment and nerve pathway requiring treatment, ensuring absolute safety.

2. Targeted Cortisone Delivery

A mixture of local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory cortisone steroid is delivered. The anesthetic offers quick diagnostics, while the cortisone flushes out inflammatory proteins over the next 3–7 days.

3. Reduced Swelling & Nerve Healing

As inflammation resolves, pressure on the pinched nerve roots declines, reducing radiating leg/arm pain, numbness, and tingling, allowing you to participate in active physical rehabilitation.
